Life Lately

This past week has been a long and rough one for me. The dang kidney stone started it all... The stone got lodged in my ureter blocking a lot of the flow, which then caused a kidney infection. I've been pretty dang sick.

I ended up having to go in for an emergency ultrasound early friday morning to see how bad the infection was and how much fluid my kidney was retaining. This is the part I'm still ticked off about. My mom and I called the urgent care several times for the results and I demanded that my ultrasound be placed on high priority. Not even 10 minutes later I got a call from a nurse saying my ultrasound looked normal and there was no kidney stones or blockage. Then the nurse pretty much accused me of lying about the whole thing. Very very rarely do I get as angry as I did at that moment. If you have ever had a kidney stone/infection you know how painful it is and how sick it makes you. There was a stone that showed up in my ER x-ray and I could feel the dang thing. The ultrasound tech never went over where the stone was since it was in my lower back, 3 inches away from my bladder. The doctor did not look at that ultrasound thoroughly at all. I'm still pretty ticked off about it. I don't think the ultrasound tech would have been as concerned as she was if there wasn't anything there. Nor would the ultrasound have been ordered if there wasn't any sign of infection.

My parents dragged me up to bear lake (really I'm not exaggerating, a 2 hour car ride on curvy mountain roads did not sound like fun when even walking makes me nauseated). They didn't want me home alone in case i got worse again. So I laid around up there, slathered in sunblock (i still managed to get burnt...) and read books, drank massive amounts of water and watched the puppies go for their first swim. I woke up saturday morning and I couldn't feel the stone anymore. I still have no idea if i passed it or if it's stuck in my bladder. Hopefully with the stone gone the infection will go away faster!

Ok now for pictures from the weekend!

Axel loves to sit on my lap and lay his head on my chest. He's such a good little puppy! I'm dreading the day he gets too big to do this! My hair color looks super weird in this picture...I promise it doesn't really look like that lol.

Puppies first swim! Trigger loved it but Axel went in once and would't go back in. The water was pretty cold so maybe thats why.

Trigger has the prettiest eyes! Except they look kind of creepy at 3am when you point a flashlight at them. Their fur is all nasty from swimming and then rolling in the sand.

Trigger tried to bury his leash in the sand....haha
