The Singles Ward

Yesterday, I was brave and went to the local Singles Ward. Since there's not that many single people in my stake we're combined with another stake, and even then the ward is extremely small.

I was a little bit freaked out by how much the real singles ward is like the movie Singles Ward.
We have several socially awkward guys that will sit and gawk at the new girls since they're "fresh meat"
We have the girls who sit and flirt and even do the hair flip and say "I was going to say the same thing!" when the RM they're going after makes a comment.
We have the pre-mish boys who most of the girls ignore since the boy is leaving for 2 years.
We have the girls who don't care who they flirt with as long as it's a cute boy.
When a question is asked in Relief Society, no one moves. They all stare at each other like they don't know what's going on. Comments come from about 8 different girls. Including the stake leaders that were present.
In Sunday school it's the RM's that make the most comments. Girls once again don't say much.

I wish they still allowed students living at home to go to the college wards. College wards are like 1000x better than singles wards. Since in college wards you get people from all over the country, sometimes even from around the world. So you get some awesome insights since everyone has a different perspective. Also in college wards, people aren't as marriage starving (these people aren't hungry, they're STARVING) so you don't have to worry about an overeager RM attacking you with a marriage proposal the first time you meet them.
I made it out alive peeps. I'm even going back next week.
