Life Is About to Get Busy

Today I signed up for 3 online classes. 1 is a major requirement, and the other 2 are general requirements. I'm so freaking excited about the general classes! After I show those classes who's boss, I'll only have one more general class to do, and then I'm FREEEEEEEEEEE to do only major requirements!!!!
The only bad thing is though, it's an English, and a Science class.
My attention span can be that of a 5 year old at moments, which makes writing 10-12 page papers kind of difficult...especially if it's a super boring topic that I'm not interested in.
The science class is "Understanding DNA", we get to learn about how genetics can leave a child with a handicap, what genes can trigger cancer, and how genes can also be used to cure cancer. (EpiGenetics anyone?)


The other class is Education History and Philosophy, our first assignment was to introduce ourselves, what are major is, why we chose it etc. There were quite a few freshman girls going into special education because they think special needs kids are cute, and that was the reason they chose to go into special ed. (the majority of the time they are cute, don't get me wrong!) but all I could think was "just you wait until you see that chair come flying at you, or the fist of meltdown rage that says hello to your boobs and face or that awesome blowout diaper you get to change, and THEN we'll discuss what's cute" Those things don't happen everyday, but they DO happen. I'm really beginning to think they should do field experience for any major the first semester. That way those considering a major, will know exactly what they're getting into, and it won't be this massive surprise when they start student teaching or do their internship.


So anyways! I'm super excited to be doing college courses again! Here's to hoping this semester won't get me in the trash!
